It was in March 2005, while excavating an ancient complex of tomb worker’s huts, the Egyptologist Otto Schaden happened upon a shaft below one of the huts. It led to a tomb that had been left undisturbed for more than 3,000 years.
Named KV63, the tomb was opened to the cameras of the press, who watched in awe as Schaden and his team carefully unsealed each coffin and marveled at the contents. After months of analysis, a strong connection with King Tutankhamun emerged, but only time will just who really was buried in KV63.
